A series of modern American Indian portraits are presently in the works. Much of the "Native" art work we see by native or non-native artists use the familiar imagery of feathers, regalia and symbols. Even though I choose to use some of the same depictions, simply for the love of my heritage, I do feel it almost necessary to highlight the common Indian of today.

Robert Randall was my father and an obvious influence in my style and composition. I still come across old sketches of his that blow my mind. His life was cut short leaving numerous questions as to where all his art resides today. I have a feeling many of his pieces are hanging proudly. Though he never reached any major notoriety or success he was a major player in the Minneapolis native art scene and it's apparent that he had every bit of talent as any well established artist. Having one of his pieces I feel is something of a great gift. Even my collection of his body of work is meager yet cherished beyond imagination. I hope you enjoy this one.
